Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a straightforward, user-friendly therapy which is usually brief, unless the difficulties have begun in childhood. You will be asked to bring a list of your problems to the first session so that your therapist can immediately gain insight and direction. You are taught how to become your own therapist i.e. our ultimate aim is to work ourselves out of a job. This is to ensure that you become very well able to understand, assess and treat your own difficulties. In this way you are much less likely to relapse.
